In certain parts of the world children’s and young people’s lives are increasingly affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Caring for sick parents, almost certainly watch them pass away, may change the personal life of a young person as well as impact on the family’s living conditions. While children and young people may experience the consequences of AIDS in the familial rather than public spheres, radical demographic alterations reveal human tragedies on the broader societal level

Consequences of AIDS include; opportunistic infections like fungal , parasitic, and viral infections.

Also the AIDS patient will have complications like secondary cancers (e.g Kaposi's Sarcoma), and they may also have Dementia.

They also may experience the wasting syndrome which is characterized by weight loss and malnutrition.

There is no cure for AIDS, but there is medical treatment which reduces the viral load, hence preventing and treating infections and malignancies.

Patients are encouraged to maintain a balanced diet, exercise, stop smoking, stop using illicit drugs, limit alcohol intake, minimize stress, and practice safe sexual habits.

The ability for the body to fight infection is a result of low white blood count and low antibody titers (measurements). The body gets bruised-looking marks, the patients find it hard to keep up weight and look very emaciated. It can be controlled nowdays with new medications which are in limited distribution and very expensive, so patients can live a near normal life for many years longer than before. Alot is still unknown about AIDS

Aids virus attacks your immune system. Immune system goes for a dump, allowing you to get viral infections easily, until you are too weakened to live.

Condoms are a cheap alternative.
