ahh im so scared !! im 15 and i have had sexual intercourse 2wice in the past 4 months. both time it was with condomns and i washed immdetely after. now three months later i noticed white spots, lightly raised and skin colored bumps, im assuming they are genital warts, based on my research. they are painless, occasionally slightly uncomfortable..they are odorless but im so scared im pretty sure its hpv. the thing is my mom would flip out if she knew i had sexual contact so im not gonna be able to go to a doctor with her , and i dont have money to go to planned paranthood and pay for treatment there, i really dont know what to do. i ordered condysil online, and hopefully it arrives soon , but please helpp!! i am so scared:(

There is no way that anyone can diagnosis what your bumps are. Did you call Planned Parenthood? Did you ask what the charges would be? Why do you need to go the doctor with your mother? You can go to the doctor without your mother...but your mother may find out that you went to the doctor if your insurance company sends information to your home address. What goes on in the doctor’s office is between you and your doctor.

Genital HPV types can be acquiring the first time you have sex and can be acquired even with consistent use of condoms. Washing does not remove the virus. The virus enters skin tissue through the little micro-trauma that sex creates.

Condysil may not do anything for the warts. This med is not one of the CDC recommended treatments. Most genital warts will regress with time....removing the warts does not remove the virus....you may still be able to transmit the virus even after all warts are gone. It often takes several treatment for warts to regress.

What you need to know when you are diagnosed with genital warts:

This isn't something you want to ignore. There are many different strains of HPV and some have been linked to cervical cancer. So if your "spots" are genital warts, you will need to be followed by a gynecologist and have regular PAP smears. You felt you were old enough to have sex: now you're going to have to be old enough to deal with whatever consequences your decision brought you: one of which may be your mother "flipping out". But I'm sure she'd flip out worse if you developed cervical cancer, don't you think?

I believe Planned Parenthood works on a sliding scale, and many accept insurance. Have you checked your local PP prices online? You need to either go there, or you need to talk to your mom. Your best bet would be to talk to your mom about it, if there's any way. If you are sexually active, you need to be under a doctor's care.
