The stat isn't 50% but it's something closer to 25%. Either way - it's not good.
You should always assume that the people you have sex with are positive, unless they show you the test results from YESTERDAY saying they're negative - and they haven't had sex with a soul on earth since! :)
It would be great if more people were routinely tested, but there's so much of a stigma surrounding it, I'm afraid it's just not practical to expect it from people.

bypass get examined. Take all your lady chum's with you. Get them examined too. prepare self forgiveness. prepare forgiveness of others. Love your self even extra effective than god loves you. Now take some duty to your existence alternatives and give up whining approximately it. HIV isn't a dying sentence anymore. Time to step as much as the plate and be a guy approximately all of it.

To the "surgeon" poster above...Surgeon's wear gloves, masks & goggles to protect themselves from HIV & other infections, and to prevent infecting their patients. There is no need for a medical professional, or a patient for that matter to know anyone's HIV status.
You may want to research health care protocols before you pretend to be a health care provider online.

yes, but no knows they have it to tell them unless that person sgins a consent to having a test done and no one wants to have it done b/c they think their fine or "that only hapens to other people, it can't happen to me" syndrom.
You know it's funny I work in Surgery and I don't know who has it or not if they don't tell and my hands are all inside their bodies. It's not a pre admission blood test done so I have to trust each patient that I'm helping save thier life to tell the truth. I wish it was mandortary that everyone get tested before surgery.

They have to get tested...and many people don't want to get tested because they are embarassed or they honestly believe there is no chance. The only way to be 100% sure is to have everyone tested...and that is a tricky problem.
